Cookie Coleman has provided consulting and management services to businesses and the non-profit
industry for more than twenty years. Her experience in fundraising development, special events,
corporate incentives, public relations, marketing and the music industry offer a unique combination
of hands-on knowledge, creative vision and leadership.
Coleman has worked for many of the Twin Cities’ major artistic, corporate and cultural institutions including the Minneapolis Institute of Arts, The Science Museum of Minnesota, The Minnesota Historical Society, The Bell Museum, VocalEssence, and The Guthrie Theater. Coleman produced the Twin Cities Welcome and Mingling of Water’s ceremonies in conjunction with the arrival of the Grand Excursion Flotilla for the St. Paul Riverfront Corporation. On a national level she was convention event coordinator for the American Association of Museums. Coleman also served as Executive Director for the Sixth World Symposium on Choral Music, an international convention and choral festival, and produced SPAM Museum Jam for Hormel in Austin, Minnesota for two consecutive years.
For each of these organizations she was required to develop a strategy to reach a variety of goals:
- Create a grand opening
- Develop an outdoor festival relative to permanent exhibits
- Coordinate a national convention
- Direct an international convention and music festival
- Raise annual operating funds
- Seek sponsorship dollars
- Plan and implement events
- Create incentive programs for donors and members
- Oversee sponsorship fulfillment
